Steps for Hosts to Cancel a Booking
Guests on JWguest eagerly anticipate their upcoming trips, and we recognize that there are occasions when you, as a host, might have to cancel a reservation.
If such a situation arises, we strongly advise to:
- Promptly inform us at support@jwguest.com about the cancellation.
- Promptly communicate with your guest to explain the situation and apologize for any inconvenience caused.
- Once confirmed, we will proceed with a full refund to the Guest.
Host Cancellation Policy
While host cancellations are infrequent and sometimes unavoidable, they can inconvenience guests and erode trust in our community. As a result, if a host cancels a confirmed booking or is deemed responsible for cancellation under our policy, JWguest may apply some kind of penalty, such as a reimbursement for the bank and insurance expenses or other repercussions.
Fees and certain other consequences may be waived if a host cancels due to Extenuating Circumstances or for valid reasons that are beyond the host's control.
Cancellation Fees
Cancellation fees are based on the reservation amount, comprising the base rate, cleaning fee, and booking insurance fees but do not include taxes, or extra guest fees. Cancellation fees will be enforced, with a minimum charge set at $60 USD and a cap at $500 USD.
- If the reservation is canceled 48 hours or less before check-in or after check-in, the fee is 50% of the reservation amount for the nights not stayed, plus the booking insurance fee.
- If the reservation is canceled anytime between 48 hours and 30 days before check-in, the fee is 15% of the reservation amount, plus the booking insurance fee.
- If the reservation is canceled more than 30 days before check-in, the fee is 5% of the reservation amount, plus the booking insurance fee.
These cancellation fees will be deducted from the host's subsequent payout. Beyond the stipulated fees and consequences in this Policy, hosts who cancel or are deemed liable for cancellation will not receive a payout for the affected reservation. If the payout has already been processed, future payouts will be adjusted to reflect the necessary deductions.
This Policy is effective for cancellations made on or after its commencement date. While this policy provides guidelines, it doesn't infringe upon the legal rights of either guests or hosts to pursue legal action. Alterations to this Policy will align with our Terms of Service.
